| Sergej Bolmat was born in Leningrad (the present-day St. Petersburg) in 1960. He has lived in Germany since 1998. He is a painter with numerous exhibitions all over the world, a lyricist, a publicist, and a screenwriter. He has worked as a layout artist at a fashion magazine, an art director, and has worked on movies and in television. Bolmat writes regularly for the Russian editions of GQ and Esquire. His first novel Click (2000) has been published in translation by Kiepenheuer & Witsch (Germany), Rizzoli (Italy), Laffont (France) and Vassalucci (Holland). The WDR German radio network produced a radio dramatization of the novel. It was followed in 2003 by In the Air, which was published in translation by C.H. Beck (Germany), Rizzoli, Laffont and a number of others. |
